Thank you for your interest in assisting BLEATS to obtain tougher sentences for Animal Cruelty offenders. 

The vicious cycle of low sentences has been due to a lack of precedent, creating a vicious cycle where Magistrates feel unable to hand down tougher sentences. 

To break this cycle we need to ensure that cases are taken to appeal resulting in higher sentences at the appellate level, creating a precedent for more appropriate sentences.
